Coastal World Journal

Editorial policy

Coastal World Journal aims to make careful, readable observations about coastal landscapes and design. We value accurate language, clear distinctions between fact and interpretation, and transparent handling of mistakes and commercial relationships.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against appropriate information available to us and avoid presenting interpretation as established fact. When a subject depends on local conditions or specialist knowledge, we say so rather than imply that one account fits every coast. Readers can use the Contact page to flag errors or request clarification.

Corrections

When we confirm a material error, we correct the article and make the change clear where it affects a reader's understanding. Smaller edits for spelling or clarity may be made without a separate note. We consider correction requests on their merits and welcome enough detail to identify the passage and the issue.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions remain separate from partnership arrangements. Paid or otherwise commercial material is identified clearly as sponsored or partner content; placements and collaborations are labelled so readers can tell when a commercial relationship is involved. A partnership does not guarantee favourable editorial coverage.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Where that is the case, we identify the image accordingly. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence of a particular place or event.

Our point of view

A coastline is a design in motion

We look beyond postcard views to consider the forms, surfaces and small decisions that give a coastal place its character.
