Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers see a coastal place or design detail with fresh precision. A strong contribution has a clear subject, a focused question and a useful reason for a general reader to care, without relying on invented access or unsupported claims.
What fits
We consider original pitches about shorelines, coastal buildings, materials, paths and objects. Ideas might explain a visual feature, compare two design choices, trace a relevant history, or offer a thoughtful way to look at a particular kind of place. The subject should have lasting interest rather than depend on a passing headline.
A useful pitch
Tell us the proposed title or subject, the central question, the main points you would cover and why the piece suits Coastal World Journal. Mention any expertise or sources relevant to the pitch, but do not claim access you do not have. We do not accept fabricated observations, unattributed borrowed work or pitches that promise professional advice outside the publication's scope.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial reason for writing. Please pitch before sending a complete article. A submission is not a promise of publication, and we may suggest changes to fit the publication's focus and standards.
A coastline is a design in motion
We look beyond postcard views to consider the forms, surfaces and small decisions that give a coastal place its character.
